to die to self: In Regards to Romantic Love;
“Walk in love” as opposed to “fall in love”.
To walk is by choice. To fall is not.
Walking generally means there is a destination, a common goal, a journey to be taken: to serve one another selflessly until the day of Christ (Philippians 1:6).
Falling generally means that it was an accident, an action that could not be helped, and an eventual reversal. Only the unrighteous falls time again and again (Proverbs 24:16).
Walking in love is biblical (Ephesians 5:2). Falling is not.
Look beyond how many butterflies the person makes you have. Look beyond how handsome or gorgeous they are physically. Look into their soul, their heart. See if they have Christ by not only their words, but by their actions and their deeds.Love is a beautiful choice. Love is not to be based upon a fickle feeling that is about as changeable as the seasons.
